The terms “LipoSculpture” and “Liposuction” are often used interchangeably, however LipoSculpture is a more refined version of Liposuction.

 Liposuction (LipoSculpture) intends to rid the body of stubborn fat deposits that will not respond to diet and exercise. The reduction in weight is a secondary gain. Through a small Cannula Laser or Vaser beam can be applied to melt the fat and then suck it out.


  Laser Liposculpture (Laser Liposuction) and Vaser Liposculpture (Vaser Liposuction) can be used to remove fat from different areas of the body. 

These include the Abdomen, Arms, Thigh, Buttocks, Male Breast, Neck, Back and Bra-line  and sometimes the Face. The female breast is not a favorite area for liposuction because it tends to sag down afterwards. Details are discussed in each relevant page of area treated (vide infra).

How is the Surgery Performed?

Dr Wilson uses  a long, thin, hollow surgical tube inserted through small surgical openings in the skin to implement both Liposuction and LipoSculpture . The tip of the cannula has adevice that emits a Laser or Ultrasonic Beam and its back is connected to a suction device that removes the fat. The cannula is used to create long, narrow tunnels through the fatty areas, and after the Laser or Ultrasonic Beam melts the fat, it is sucked to the device.

After the procedure, the patient wears a compression garment for at least 1 to 3 months to collapse the tunnels, creating an overall slimmer profile.

Types of Liposculpture

The most recent advances in Liposculpture involves High Definition 4D Liposculpture, meaning that the Vaser or Laser is used to sculpt the areas specifically according to the needs of each patient. Some areas warrant heavy sculpture while others warrant light sculpture.

Risks of Liposculpture (Liposuction)

As with any surgery under the skin, a seroma may develop but is usually transient and resolves within 4-6 weeks. Sometimes, patients may notice numbness in the treatment area for several months. That happens because the suction force removes not only fat but minor nerves, blood vessels, connecting tissues and other smaller bodily material but these grow back by the time. Rarely a few bumps and lumpm might appear but these are usually dissolved by lipolysis injections.
